Up to three lines per placard, each Small or Large, 20 characters a line. Type in any case and it comes out in capitals — except a name like McDonald or MacLeod, where the lowercase prefix is kept and the rest capitalized. The two placard sizes are fixed by the vest and the colors are set above. Lines fill the panel and hold their height, so a long line condenses sideways rather than shrinking and a stack of them stays even.
